I guess you could some it up like this (from FHC):
After having spent 24 hours+ reading and digesting the ****storm of posts surrounding MTs and the leaked newsletter I am not raging, but I am definitely disappointed.
I am basically opposed to MTs in any form, though I could be prepared to put up with them for vanity items with no game-altering effects (I've actually just deleted TF2 since I discovered that they have changed to a F2P model).
As for the rest of the issues, others have already done a much better job of articulating the points than I will ever manage *looks at Jade Constantine*.
I will however add that there are three big things that keep me coming back to this game:
- Backstory (Jove! Sleepers! Sansha! Enheduanni! Infomorphs! Jamyl Sarum! Terran Superweapons!)
- Player-driven economy (basically everything being mined/created/worked for by the player base)
- The sandbox, or player-driven experience. Basically a game where this is not only possible but totally within the rules
Sadly, from the information currently available, it looks as though #1 and #2 are going to play second-fiddle to MTs and increasing revenue streams. As for #3, I guess we will have to see...
I await CCP's response to the current situation with great interest.

Since I apparently can't edit my own post because, according to the forums, it doesn't belong to me...
In light of the events currently taking place I have cancelled my alt account (expiry 27th June). I will wait a few days to see what happens before I decide what to do with my main.
Also, 103 pages now, holy cow

You may rest assured that I have been spending 7-10 hours a day recently on CSM issues, because I love the game and what is happening to it deeply disturbs me. I'm curious - I know the CSM have probably been discussing this a lot among themselves, but have CCP actually started talking to you at all, or are you still as much in the dark as the rest of us?

CCP Manifest, thank you for your post - it is good to know that you are still reading these threads. I hope everything is ok with CCP Pann.

I really like the term 'Threadnarok' myself, but whatever you decide to call it, 10,000+ posts and 1,000,000+ views is pretty damn impressive and should tell CCP something in and of itself...
